The White Panda & Lil Wayne

Here's a few mashups from mashup artists The White Panda. These might be a bit outdated, but for those who haven't heard them yet, you should. They really like using Lil Wayne for their mashups, and to be honest it works really well.

Kanye West and Co, CHIP THA RIP, and The Hood

I'm the guy on the right, with the finger on my lip. Just kidding that's not me. That's Ken CLausen who is a lacrosse player, defenseman for the Denver Outlaws and All-American at the University of Virginia. Anyway, I got some tasty jams for you guys. The first post is called Good Friday by Kanye West, with a star-studded lineup featured on the song. Go ahead, look who's featuring. All I care about is that Kid Cudi is on that list. Speaking of Cudi, next up on the list is Chip Tha Ripper with a song called I Feel Good. He is another talented rapper from Cleveland. Seriously, I don't know what they feed their children, because Mr. Cudi and Mr. Ripper are bad-ass. Last but not least on the list is a song called Dwrcan 'em Up by The Hood Internet. Enjoy your eargasm.

Iglu&Hartly, JayZ + Marvin Gaye, QuESt

Iglu&Hartly performing half-naked as always

A few songs I've been meaning to post for a while now. But first things first. We've got three new contributors to musichatch. They should all hopefully add some variety to the blog. This being the case you may have to search through our archives a little more frequently than before (which I encourage you to do anyway because you never know what you'll find) since there'll be more posts from now on. Anyway, the first song is one of my favorite tracks. Ever. If you like this song you'll definitely like the rest of their stuff so I encourage you to look them up on iTunes. The next two songs come off a mixtape that mashes Marvin Gay with Jay-Z's "American Gangster" soundtrack. These two are my favorite off the entire mixtape. The last is a rapper named QuESt and he samples OneRepublic's "All The Right Moves". It's good.

shoutout to Jersey

So the first song is big boi, rapping of good old american hero general Patton. second is a mashup of Cee-Lo's Fuck you and Gloria Gaynor's I will survive. I forget which blog described it, but simply put, it is a fight between the genders. Gloria telling Cee-Lo that she will endure, and Cee-Lo telling her to FUCK OFF. It's the bees knees. enjoy

Jersey Welcome

Whats up, I'm basically Breezy's roomate (I spend way too much time in his room), he asked to throw up some songs because all I have is music that BUMPS. I'm here to show you that Jersey is infact an awesome place and we listen to some pretty dope music too.

This weekends going to absolutely insane, I know everyone is back in school now and that means everyones going to be going hard. In honor of that I want to share some banging party music. All of these songs are atleast going to get feet tapping if not girls spontaneously grinding up on you.

First up we have my absolute go to dance song, probably the biggest song of the summer if not the year. Dynamite with a dance twist, Stonebridge kills this song, if your gonna download one song from me, get this one!

Dynamite (Stonebridge Remix Radio Edit) by Jersey18

This second song is another huge hit, I havent met a girl who has said she didnt like the song. This is a loud, bassy remix to Like A G6 BY Far East Movement. Please bear with the approximately 45 second intro, it gets going real quick.

Like A G6 (Chew Fu Remix) by Jersey18

Next up is a song that should hit home for a lot of college guys this weekend hopefully you'll be getting some Bedrock, again another uptempo remix that should be played at all pregames. H*Wood jumps on this track and its pretty dope. Grab it.

05 Bedrock (H Wood Remix) by Jersey18

This is the last song im throwing up for now, its a nice remix to Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi. Steve Aoki remixes this and its so loud, strongest bass out of all these dance bangers.

Gucci Mane + Die Antwoord

A couple of my friends showed me this video a while back. It was strange and kinda weirded me out mostly because I don't usually enjoy things that I don't understand. So for example, when a dude starts rapping in Afrikaans, 9 times out of 10 I'll probably click on the "dislike" button if there was one. Nevertheless, I was taught to be more tolerant and open minded than that. Anyway, Die Antwoord is a group from South Africa, and surely you know who Gucci Mane is. I found this mashup of their two songs "Enter the Ninja" and "Lemonade" and thought it was executed pretty well. The second is another remix of "Lemonade" and it took me a couple of listens to start liking it.

MashMaticians

Just browsing through a few sites today, and I ended up finding a few mashups by a group that calls itself the MashMaticians. The first mashup I genuinely liked, the second literally made me laugh out loud or lol, and the third reminded me of middle school. I was impressed by the production of all the tracks and theyre all definitely worth a quick listen.

Update: I didn't realize it at first, but there's something wildly inappropriate yet impressive at the same time of mashing lyrics like "shoobie doo wop and scooby snacks / I met a fly girl and I cant relax" with "she's a super freak / the freak of the week / i give her something to f*#k she gives me somethin to eat / its never enough / she likes it rough / we keep it going till we switch positions"....i apologize to anyone who feels like whatever remains of their middle school innocence from listening to LFO has been violently stripped away by this mashup. Nevertheless, you gotta admit the tune's pretty catchy.

Some more VodkandMilk

Another VodkandMilk mashup. This one's a little aggressive, but I kinda liked how they put the "Halloween" theme song into a mashup with Tupac and Bone Thugs n Harmony.

Patty's Playlist #2

Patty tends to make things look smaller than they really are due to his size. We used our friend Nelly as a scale to show how Patty rarely finds appliances that fit him appropriately.

Patty fun-fact: Patty was the original inspiration for the nickname Owen Wilson's character in "Night at the Museum" uses for Ben Stiller's character (Gigantor).

Mostly remixes in this edition of Patty's Playlist. My favorites are A-Trak's remix of "Gone" by Donnis, The Killers remix, and the Sky Ferreira song is starting to grow on me. The Hood Internet mashup of Radiohead and Eve is a must listen if you like Radiohead / laid back rap tracks.

Mochi Beats X 2

I realized I just posted the Mochi Beats album, but here are two separate tracks that he released after the album. I've already posted "California Nightlife" but I have a feeling some people missed it and it's definitely worth getting.

Mochi Beats Album

There's a good chance you've heard about mashup artists like E-603 or (probably more likely) GirlTalk (pictured above). They tend to release albums where listening to the tracks continuously is integral to the cohesion of the album itself (aka theyre perfect for a powerhour mix). Yeah sometimes you can listen to tracks individually, but they tend to awkwardly get cut-off and they sound as though a part of the track were missing. Well, Mochi Beats is another mashup artist who I've been posting about recently. He released his debut self titled album in May, which you can get here for free and you can choose whether you want to download the album as a single continuous track (and if you want to do that you could also just download it from the player below), or a bunch of individual tracks. Here's the album in its entirety and a few excerpts which I really liked.

Another K'naan Mashup

This summer there's been no shortage of K'naan's "Wavin' Flag" remixes....and here's another. This one uses a bit of Kings of Leon, Whitney Houston, Counting Crows, and a few others.

Aloe Blacc

A few people have been asking about the original song behind the Biggie and the Wale tracks I've posted. Well the guy's name is Aloe Blacc and he's the guy behind the theme song for the show "How To Make It In America". I've attached the original song and two other remixes. I'm sure you guys are tired of the same song getting remixed, but whoever did these last two did a pretty good job on them (especially the Wu-Tang Clan one).

Patty's Playlist #1

Every now and then we'll be dedicating a set-list to everyone's favorite will smith bizarro. Additionally, we will also post some fun facts or personal anecdotes about our favorite giant.

Patty Fun-Fact - If you've spent the night out with Patty, have failed to keep your alcohol consumption to a moderate level, and will be sharing close-quarters in order to sleep later that night, do NOT allow the room temperature to fluctuate especially if the room gets warmer. Excessive heat may induce Patty to vomit.

Everywhere.

In his sleep.

And no, these incidents were not instances of alcohol poisoning.

Today's playlist contains a few mashups and a Kid Cudi / Kanye song which is presumably from Cudi's follow-up album. The first two sample the same Vampire Weekend song, and I think they're both great. The Wale track samples the same song from the Biggie song I posted a while ago, and once it picks up it gets a little better. I'm just as bad as anyone else in losing interest quickly if a song doesn't pick up right away, but do yourselves a favor and definitely listen to the first four songs. The rest are all good too, but with a few of them you might have to fast forward a bit for them to pick up. Enjoy

Juicy Dollars

Here's a remix of Biggie's Juicy. It's a mashup with the theme song for a show called How To Make It In America which according to one of my good friends, let's call him Donatello, it's actually a very good show. If the show's as good as this mashup, I think I may add it on my lists of shows to watch over the summer.

Beastie Boys Remixes

You either end up loving or hating the Beastie Boys. No one really just casually listens to them. Here's a couple of remixes that hopefully changes that. The first one is a mashup with Primal Scream (one of my favorite mashups) and the other is a Matt&Kim mashup by the Hood Internet.

Passion Pit

A couple of Passion Pit remixes. I'm not entirely sold on the Little Secrets remix, but I love the original and its not one of those remixes that butchers up the original. The second track is from The Hood Internet that mixes Sleepyhead and Back That Ass Up.

Two Fresh, One Old

Christian U is yet another student at Duke, aspiring to be a music producer. He brings a fresh take to "Overnight Celebrity". You can check him out at his facebook page or look him up on iTunes U at Duke University's site. I also found this remix of Wiz Khalifa's "Say Yeah" mashed-up with Deadmau5's "I Remember". A bit different, but if you like Deadmau5 you might like this one. Last song is Khalifa's "The Thrill" feat. Empire of the Sun for those of you who don't have it.

The Hood Internet

The Hood Internet has some great mashups, but with them its usually a hit or miss. For every good song they'll put out, they'll have five other ones you won't like, so it definitely gets a bit frustrating to sort through their archives until you find those gems. Here's a few that I would recommend to anyone.
